Sedef

Carpet design

Sedef

Sedef defines individual prayer spaces through a repeated series of pointed arch frames. The arch bands enclose the inner panels and define their boundaries. Small leaf forms run along the arches and continue across the horizontal border below. The uncluttered inner panels give prominence to the outlines, while the repeated arches and continuous lower leaf band bring a regular rhythm to the composition.
